Why we began
It started with Mike.
Natiesha wanted her brother to be safer in public. When Mike couldn’t explain his needs, strangers didn’t always understand what they were seeing. She wanted a way to give them that understanding before they reacted.
That’s why we created SIGNAL.
Clear words on clothing. A chance to understand. A reminder to see the person in front of you.
Dignity and choice, always.
Some people want to name their disability. Others want to share only a need. Everyone deserves patience and respect, whether they wear a message or not.

The words explain what this person wants you to understand. Let that guide your response.
Respond with care.
Give them time. Ask before touching or helping. Listen to their words, gestures or other way of communicating.
Before you choose your SIGNAL.
Do I have to name my disability?
No. Some designs name a condition; others explain a need or ask for patience. Choose the message you want to share. You do not owe anyone your diagnosis.
Can I choose a different language?
English, Spanish and bilingual editions are part of the collection we are preparing. The language printed on the garment is specific to each product, so check its title and images before choosing.
What if I cannot find the words I need?
Tell us the message, language and item you have in mind. We can discuss a custom request and what is possible before you commit.
